Slay Your Dragons

With a B.A. in art and an emphasis in design, Kimberly’s sculpting background (call it “cross training”) gives her the natural ability to get in deep into your aches
and pains.
State certified and licensed massage therapist Kimberly Korljan is a pain management healer who specializes in DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE or what Kimberly calls, “Getting those NASTY KINKS out.” She blends shiatsu, reflexology, reiki, trigger point therapy, and cold laser therapy. She has found a combination of these methods most effective to help treat arthritis, poor circulation, anorexia, MIGRAINE HEADACHES, cellulite and chronic tight muscles. She is also trained in cold and hot stone therapy as well as in Active Release, a post-chiropractic technique which is hands-on soft tissue manipulation for injuries of muscles, tendons, fascia, nerves, and the surrounding soft tissues. And combines acupressure with no needles — just her fingers on the points that need to be treated. She combines that with a cold laser therapy light that expedites the healing of the tissue. She gets results really fast. In fact, she discovered the cold laser machine when she had issues with her wrist. It was healed with this specific machine and she was relieved because her hands are her livelihood. She can also find the reflexology point in the foot to address the correlating injury point in the shoulder, elbow, etc.
The difference between Ms. Korljan’s work and others is that her massage will go a whole lot further to relieve tightness, making the benefits last longer. Deep massage can accelerate the removal of metabolic waste produced by a grueling workout. Removal of this waste will reduce soreness and allow you to return to action quicker.
Since studying massage therapy at Santa Monica’s esteemed International Psychostructural Balancing School, this special healer has applied her gift to her private clientele and patients at chiropractic facilities in the greater Los Angeles area. Her résumé includes Peninsula Beverly Hills Hotel, Friars Club, Manhattan Country Club, Murad Spa, and the Manhattan Beach Studios. She is a hard to find special miracle wizard.
Healing runs deep in her family. Kimberly’s father was an M.D. and her uncle a naturopathic doctor.
Like a true artist, she has taken the best from all possible worlds integrating her omnifarious therapeutic knowledge to help treat STRESS, fibromyalgia, T.M.J., muscle injury, and the aches and pains from sports or life (they’re one and the same).

Kim is such a talented and intuitive massage therapist. I am a chiropractor and I send my patients to her when they need serious soft tissue work. As a client of hers myself, what I love the most is how she combines modalities (ART, hot stones, cold laser, fascia blasting, etc) and approaches each session with so much attention and focus on the primary complaint. I always come in hurting and leave without a trace of pain. There is no one else like her. She is a necessary part of my health care. (Tracy F.)
In June, 2023 I injured my back putting together furniture. I already had a herniated disk for which I was undertaking physical therapy for, although with modest success. After injuring my back, I found that I could not stand for more than a couple of minutes without being in significant pain. Any amount of walking was very difficult. I had been actively playing tennis and golf before the incident but now there was no way to do that.
After several weeks of being in constant pain with little improvement I went to my orthopedist who suggested that I get an epidural. I scheduled an epidural but when I went to get it, they wouldn’t do it because my blood pressure was too high, which was in part due to the significant pain I was in. I rescheduled the epidural and with my doctor’s direction took increased medication to lower my blood pressure so that I could get the epidural. Unfortunately the medication didn’t lower my blood pressure enough and they still wouldn’t administer the epidural the second time.
Facing no medical solution to reduce my back pain which had no been going on for a month, my wife suggested seeing Kim who she had been seeing periodically. I scheduled with Kim and the first week did two hour sessions of massage therapy five of the seven days with Kim. I was amazed to see some material improvement. I continued with Kim after that on a twice a week basis and did exercises and diet that she recommended at home. After four weeks with Kim, I was able to walk over a mile without a significant amount of pain. In another month, I was back to playing tennis and golf regularly. I am now continuing with Kim on a weekly basis and feel that I have a “road map” to avoid the injury that knocked me out for two months (and at one point I was worried that I would never get back to my pre-injury status). I am very thankful for Kim’s diligence and knowledge. She certainly has helped heal my back and minimize the chances of reinjuring myself. (Jeffrey W.)
Such a friendly atmosphere and Kim is not only knowledgeable, but, also a VERY NICE person, too. (Cheryl P.)
Kim is nothing short of amazing. There are people who give you a massage, and then there is Kim, at a level far beyond. Yes, she does give you a massage, but what she does feels like magic, though there really is nothing magical about it at all. she has invested in years of study and the knowledge, both theoretical and practical, is vast.
How do I know this? Because after seeking help for problems with my back and neck stemming from an accident in the surf and subsequent surgery, I had found no relief. My muscles were seizing up more often and taking more time to sort themselves out. This past summer, after losing mobility in my neck and suffering from constant pain, I made an appointment with Kim, recommended by a friend, and spent over two hours on her table. Leaving her place in something of a fog and feeling a little high, I noticed within about a half hour, that more than 50% of the mobility was restored, the pain was much reduced, and my posture was suddenly much improved. Over the following weeks, spending time under her care, I got all of the mobility in my neck back, the pain was at bay, and there were other unexpected improvements. For example, when standing my torso twisted to the left about 10º. I had tried over many years to correct this – on my own and through working with other health practitioners. Recently I noticed that the twist was gone, thanks to the work Kim did with me.
There are many levels to Kim’s practice and you can pursue them with her as you feel comfortable, but my experience at the most basic level of what she does has been a revelation. I wish I had found her a long time ago. I could have avoided a lot of pain and discomfort. (Jonathan P.)
